For the past five years, he has been the head of research funded by various foundations (Russian Foundation for Basic Research, Russian Humanitarian Scientific Foundation and Current expert of the Russian Science Foundation).

He conducts active research in such areas as language philosophy and semantics, the philosophy of consciousness, the sociology of knowledge, the sociology of emotions, the theory of nations and nationalisms.
